Babies At The Bakery

“Babies at the Bakery” is a “Coffee, Mommy & Me” we offer in the annex space of out Culver City bakery. On Fridays from 1:00-4:30, foam mats and toys are out for the whole afternoon, letting babies hang out while adults enjoy café drinks and selections from the dessert case. Squeals, babble, spilled Cheerios and other aspects of babies’ lives are expected – and accepted. Parents need not worry about how their babies’ noise or mess may bother other customers. For nursing moms, caffeine-free items are available.  

The events, including baby entertainment, are free (some add-on activities like massages have additional costs).  A core of Babies at the Bakery is Funtime with Nanny C. With a background as a nanny to twins, Claire is an expert on keeping babies happy and stimulated. Rhyming, clapping, singing and making funny faces are just some of the ways Claire garners squeals of delight from babies.

Friday, October 27
Signing Songs with Nanny C and a sign-savvy mom: At 1:30 and 2:30, in additional to the usual baby-oriented entertainment, a sign-savvy mom will be leading and showing how to do baby sign language songs. There will be Halloween decorated cookies and cupcakes to purchase to enjoy onsite or take home.  

Friday, November 3rd
Open birthday party celebrating all November birthdays! Raffle off of gift certificate for Discovery Toys, which will be out for kids to play with. Free cake for everybody!  Laurie Kierstein of Cookie Lee Jewelry will have jewelry display for holiday shopping and gift ideas. These will include jewelry options that are affordable, not a choking hazard, not sharp and can have photos put in them for personalization with baby photos.

Discovery Toys at Babies at the Bakery
Peachhead Mom September Hill of Discovery Toys will demonstrate toys appropriate for multiple ages for kids to play with and answer questions about the developmental advantages of toys.

Friday, November 17
Mommy Chair Massages at Babies at the Bakery
 Call or email to RSVP for 10, 15 or 20 minute time slots. Tell us your name, contact email, how many minutes you want and what time window you are available for. Make it an afternoon with friends! Massage days can sell out, so call or email ahead to get your much-deserved break! $1.50 per minute for simultaneous massage and child supervision by Nanny C! We will have Nanny C entertainment throughout the afternoon, before and after the massages!

Don’t waste more money on buying stuff for your kids! Bring all your items to the bakery for a freestyle clothing exchange. What goes unwanted will be donated to a local children’s charity.
